yarn un-plying: complete!

*I got (a little) faster at the process as I went along, mostly because I figured out which parts I should be careful about and which parts I could half-ass.

*Big kudos to the house's former owners -- they gifted us the extra pieces to their closet shelving unit, which happened to include two lightweight metal rods with caps on each end. The PERFECT size for winding yarn!

*Also big kudos to the cat, who graciously allowed me to borrow one of her towers for the project!

*Conclusion #1: reddit was right when it told me the answer to 'can you un-ply yarn' was 'don't.' (Note that the answer wasn't 'no.' It CAN be done! But it turned out to be a somewhat more time-consuming and less fun endeavor than one might have hoped.)

*Conclusion #2: NEVER AGAIN. (You know, until I forget how hard it was and how long it took, and just remember the awesomely soft yarn I got from it and think 'why not???')

*Plan for the day: bask in the glow of all that un-plyed yarn in happy little yarn balls ready to crochet!
