Apr. 17th, 2021 06:36 am*The great thing about ordering a two-pack of Extra Large Plastic Totes online is that they come in an Extra Large Cardboard Box. It's three for the price of two!
*Of course, the trouble with an Extra Large box is figuring out what to pack in it that needs all that room but will still be light enough to carry. The answer: THROW PILLOWS. I did not think I had an excessive number of throw pillows, and yet! There are currently eight in the box, I think it can fit two or three more, and that will STILL not be all of them! (It's the mugs all over again!)
*I've definitely passed the 'this is a fun game' stage of packing, and have entered the 'despair and dismay' stage. There's so much! Of everything! All the time!
*I keep reminding myself that this exact same thing happened every time I had to pack up my dorm room at school. I'd start out having a great time, thinking 'I don't even have that much stuff!' and it would inevitably progress to weeping and feeling like I would never be done. BUT! After this should be the 'shockingly, I'm nearly finished' stage, which is much more fun.
*I thought I'd mentioned these fabric-y storage bags before, but a casual search didn't turn them up. Shoutout for the most useful packing container I've used this year! (The photos are a lie; they don't stack that tidily.) Which has turned out to be good, actually! They do stack (::cough:: as long as there's a wall supporting them on one side) and then they COMPRESS! And then you can fit more stuff in them! Brilliant!
*Yesterday I thought to myself, 'you know what I could use in this process? some string.' And then I thought, 'I should post about it, because there IS string somewhere in one of these boxes.' Because if I can find it, share the celebration! And if I can't find it, that would be funny. (My prediction: I'll find it, but it won't be as useful as I think it will be. Which would also be funny.)
