H50 — I’m watching tv again!
Jan. 17th, 2011 11:47 pmI appreciate that the show makes an effort (even thought it sometimes feels awkward and/or contrived) to portray the team as actual people — they work hard at their job, the feel awful when they mess up, but they do have to be able to let it go and be parents and cousins and partners and all that and go on with their lives.
(Also, I *love* that at the end of the episode, Kono’s clearly dressed to go out, because she has a life outside of work, and the rest of the team is all, ‘hey, let’s spend the evening watching a CHIPs marathon at the office!’)
((Oh, and Danny and Steve’s conversation at the beginning about the present / UPS package / ill-advised internet purchase was pure gold. Loved every second.))
QUOTES(!!!)
“You did pass the HPD class in pursuit driving, right?”
“There’s a class?”
-Chin, Kono
“What happened to the courtesy knock?”
“Oh, I think it went out with the high five and the bro hug. You want me to knock now?” ::knocks on wall:: “There, you happy?”
-Steve, Danny
“That was a movie!”
“I can offer you more, non-cinematic references.”
-Steve, Danny
“I told you I’m fine.”
“Really? Because that’s the third time you’ve hit the elevator button.”
-Chin, Kono
“Don’t tell me how to tail a suspect. And by the way, if this was CHIPs, I’d be Estrada, you’d be Wilcox.”
“I don’t think so.”
-Steve, Danny
