It turns out it’s really hard to find a song when the catchiest (aka ‘the only really memorable part’) is:

ba ba-DA, ba da, ba da, ba da
ba ba-DA, ba da, ba da, ba da
ba ba-DA, ba da, ba da, ba da
ba ba-DA

Yeah, google couldn’t do much with that. Worse, the only other lines I could remember were “breathing in, breathing out.” Also not helpful. Turns out there’s like a billion songs that include that. Also lots of meditation sites.

THANK YOU 92.5 THE RIVER for playing this song while I was eating dinner (instead of driving, which is always when I’ve heard it before). With additional lyrics, I did correctly identify the “ba ba-DA” song as “Bleeding Out,” by The Lone Bellow.

I have now through completely legal means obtained this song, and so can sing it as loudly as possible while driving to work this week.

Did you know the melody? Cause if so you could've used a hum song finder to ID it (Google has a pretty decent list.)

I did consider that, but I don't have a huge amount of confidence in my ability to correctly hum the bits of the tune I could remember. Thanks for the suggestion!

Have you seen the multi-fandom vid set to Bleeding Out? Really spectacular work.

I had not seen it! (Though now, having seen it, I can say 'Wow!') That is a super powerful vid. I was actually talking about a totally different song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cAUjwVxOwj4), which is a little more cheery. Sorry I couldn't find any actual fanvids set to it, but that's the song.
