life’s little mysteries

I think my fitbit may be going on adventures without me. Or possibly picking up activity by an alternate universe me?

To be fair, the least accurate of the measurements does seem to be the altimeter, which is supposed to count how many flights of stairs you go up each day. (According to fitbit, it counts one floor each time you climb ten feet at one time.) Which is a pretty vague measurement, but it’s all in good fun, and if sometimes counts a session of putting up curtains as a staircase, so be it.

But on Tuesday this week we had a snowstorm, and I had a super enjoyable and super lazy snow day in which I napped a lot and never left the apartment, and somehow my fitbit climbed 18 floors. THERE ARE NO STAIRS IN MY APARTMENT.

I have no explanation for this.

My Fitbit has been registering stairs weirdly for the last week or two! I wonder if they did some sort of update and messed up the altimeter? I tried resetting mine after it registered 83 flights on a day when I should have struggled to get 30, but it hasn't seemed to help. I think in one hour yesterday it went from 12 stairs to 47. No idea what's happening, but I like the alternate universe explanation!
