looking on the bright side

Rolling into another heat wave this week, so I thought I’d take time to reflect on some of the good things about hot weather.

1. Driving with the AC on in my car means the windows are rolled up — greatly reducing the temptation to throw things at cyclists who create a road hazard.

2. Going to work seems like a great idea, since it provides an air-conditioned respite.

3. High levels of crankiness and irritation at work can be explained away by ‘it’s so hot out!’

4. ‘Too hot to sleep’ is a great excuse for staying up reading All The Fanfic.

5. Any day above 90F gets an automatic no-guilt pass for absolute sloth. This applies to exercise, cooking, and just about all productive activities.

Onward to a week of slothdom!

Man I wish I could apply number 5 to here. I wouldn't have to do anything a single day between April and September. XD

Some tips from surviving the heat, an ice pack on the back of your neck while sitting on the couch or lying in bed or w/e is amazing. If it's not too humid, sticking your head under a faucet may make you look funny, but it's so worth it. Good luck!

Okay, I just googled our respective dew points, and at this exact moment in time ours is literally twenty degrees higher than yours ::amused::

I have to admit, I'm not exactly sure what dew point is. Scientifically I do, but in terms of what it means to how it feels, I don't. But I must say it sounds rather not pleasant! I wish us both cooler days!

Thanks! My hair is short enough so I can get all of it wet pretty easily, and then let it dry on its own to cool down some!

1 only works if you have ac in the vehicle, sadly.

Down in Texas it's been so hot and dry that not only is there a burn ban for bonfires and bar-b-ques, but they've even banned fireflies.
