marcicat: (badger book)

A few months ago my boss sent me an email:

“I’ve signed you up for this. They take attendance.”

Which, really? Way to doubt my both ability to follow simple directions and my follow-through on commitments at the same time, boss. On the other hand, it got the job done, so points for efficiency.

Today was the big day of attendance-taking and (presumably more the objective) learning about state labor laws. Not really my area of expertise, but a lot of people seemed to be there for the implied karma points rumored to be awarded to attendees (as in, complaints might end in a warning instead of a fine, since you are so obviously *trying* to do the right thing).

I did not feel any karma points accruing, but my boss was in attendance as well (surprise!) and perhaps he collected in my stead.

What I learned about labor laws: If businesses kept all the paperwork they were supposed to keep for the suggested period of time, self-storage units would be raking it in. Also, everyone is confused by lunch break rules.

marcicat: that was easy (that was easy)

Every once in a while (or, okay, more like every day) the internet amazes me with its awesome.

TODAY:

Big thanks to the Coulson Lives tumblr and the “agent” who posted this pic!
