And then 60,000 words later you’re still on the edge of your (metaphorical) seat, all anxious, waiting for the big reveal, and it just — doesn’t happen. Everything’s fine. It wasn’t foreshadowing. Nothing to see here.
Which is — I mean, on the one hand, yay! No villains here; that’s good! But on the other hand — BUT WHO THE HECK LOCKED THE DOG OUT OF THE BEDROOM?!
