movie review: The Lego Movie

I have now seen most of The Lego Movie. In honor of that, here are most of my thoughts about it:

1. I thought Wreck It Ralph was better.

2. Having said that, Lego Batman was hilarious and perfect and it was well worth watching the movie just for him.

3. I really enjoyed the movie up until the point where it got weird, and then it was like Toy Story 3* all over again. Just — cognitive dissonance all over the place.

4. I think a double decker sofa is a brilliant idea, actually.

[*Okay, can I revisit this? Mr. Potato Head transferred his soul into a piece of bread. (Google informs me it was a tortilla.) That freaked me the freak out. I was 100% done after that.]
