movie review: Miss Congeniality 2
Aug. 18th, 2015 06:42 amIt was a movie-intensive weekend — 3 movies in 2 days, which was kind of fun since it was approximately a bajillion degrees outside.
So, it’s possible I’d seen this movie before? I’m not sure, I may have been confusing it with the first one. It was watchable. I was a little baffled by how it didn’t end up a romantic comedy between Gracie and Sam, since the whole movie was essentially one rom-com trope after another.
(Unlikely partners! At first they hate each other! They fight all the time! Until they go against their bosses demands to solve a crime, which involves: going undercover together, sleeping on the same sofa, sharing personal stories, and daring last-minute rescues! At the end of which they stare into each others’ eyes and declare… well, that they were just doing their jobs, but hey, let’s be friends. Just gals being pals, right?)
[Since it seems like I should have more to say, here’s something only vaguely related. Fun fact: I have actually seen the Treasure Island pirate show. (In the typical way that one sees things in Vegas, which is that they’re happening, and a lot of people drinking alcoholic beverages are between you and the thing, but you still have a general sense of what’s going on.)]
