caturday work lols
Sep. 19th, 2015 08:51 amIn my job, I spend a relatively large amount of time reading letters and numbers back to people to make sure that information is correct. I like to mix it up just for my own interest (“is that p like penguin?”) — animals are fun, as is food, but state/city/country names are usually my go-to, since it’s hard to mess up “d like Denver.”
One of my favorite things is when callers try to clarify the letter with something that is completely unhelpful. (Not sarcastic. It can be very funny. Anything that makes me laugh at work is generally A-OK in my book.)
The classic: “It’s p like Paul.”
Me: “Did you mean: b like ball? c like call? d like doll? g like gall? t like tall? Because those all sound EXACTLY THE SAME.”
