oh, it’s real

Many apologies to the tumblr user who posted about the “build a squid” google search, firstly because I’ve misplaced their name, and secondly because I did not believe it was a real thing.

Oh, but it is! Type “build a squid” into google search, and receive this amazing result for the Colossal Squid Exhibit at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa:

On this somewhat stressful primary voting day in New Hampshire, I highly recommend taking some time to build a squid and set it free!

What I love about the build-a-squid is that there’s none of that ‘this name has already been used’ — if you want to name your squid Squiddo, even though dozens of other people have already used that name, you can go right ahead!

[I just checked in, and it looks like Squiddo has traveled 9 km since yesterday, and made friends with another colossal squid. Nice work, buddy! At least one of us had a productive Monday!]
