the crossover we deserve

Having watched exactly one (1) episode of Rise, I have learned exactly zero (0) of the characters’ names. But that’s okay, because there were a LOT of similarities to other stuff.

[I was expecting Glee, but Glee had that weird ‘we’re a serious teen drama BUT also a comedic parody of teen dramas’ thing going on. Rise was So Super Seriously Serious About This For Real that it felt a lot more like High School Musical, but crossed over with the high school dystopia of the 2017 Power Rangers movie. And I mean, I liked both of those, so it’s not like that was a downside for me.]

In conclusion, I’m sure Troy and Gabriella are great, and I wish those crazy kids luck, but it’s pretty clear that it would be Kelsi, Chad, Ryan, and Sharpay who would run off and find the power coins, and I would so love to read that fanfic.
