you can get a cat a fountain...

...but you can't make them drink from it while you're watching. The cat fountain has been set up and is super cute. I'm thinking about getting another one purely for decorative purposes, though that really depends how easy it is to clean. So far I have not actually seen the cat drink from it. (Though she has demanded to be lifted up on the bathroom counter twice for a drink from the faucet. Yes, I'm weak.)

However! Cats are wily and clever, and it would not surprise me even a tiny bit if she is drinking from it when I'm not looking. (Which, to be fair, is probably 99% of the time.) There was definitely less water in it this morning than last night, although I don't know what the usual rate of evaporation is from this sort of thing.

Plus, it's good enrichment! For both of us, probably, and in a week it'll be time to figure out how to take the motor apart to clean it, so I'll learn something new!

chore power, activate!

When it comes to getting things done on the weekend, I tend to imagine it will go something like this:

'Well, I'll have the WHOLE afternoon, so that's like -- noon to six, I could do just ONE thing every hour and still have tons of time for relaxing in between!'

But it always ends up going more like this:

'Well, now that I've spent five hours snacking, napping, reading fanfic, and patting the cat, I guess that leaves one hour to do everything else!'
