::snow intensifies::
Dec. 3rd, 2019 05:42 amThe snow falling from the sky should actually be de-intensifying today (by mid-day), which is great! It also means that this morning is when many plow drivers are taking a (well-deserved and much needed!) break, before heading back out to clear in the post-storm time frame.
Which, in turn, means that right now the parking lot of the apartment complex is a complete mess. It's sort of been plowed a few times? But it was never fully cleared yesterday (it depends who moves their car in time for the plows to come through), and then we engaged in full-on parking lot anarchy -- as soon as the lines disappear under the snow, it's like we all "forget" what they looked like. Yesterday I parked next to someone whose car was a full 90-degrees off the angle of the spaces. Neat technique!
Also, this is the first year that I can remember with no plow stakes around the parking lot. If yesterday is any indication, the plows are just going to clear a squarish space, and hope it sort of matches the edges of the lot. (To be fair, this is also what they did last year.) Seems like that would be kind of scary on the edges closest to the buildings, where there's a curb, but plow drivers seem to have nerves of steel, so maybe it's no big deal for them.
Anyway! First significant storm of the season! Snow! Winter! It's here!
(107 days till spring!)
