marcicat: (cat says hi)
Today in 'misheard song lyrics,' I have two! I've been listening to the radio a LOT during work-from-home, because my internet bandwidth is already struggling to keep up, so streaming audio is not happening, and also I like the radio. (Shoutout to WXRV!)

But when I say 'listening,' what I really mean is 'it's on in the background and my ears sometimes catch bits and pieces of things.' Which is really my only good excuse for so completely botching these lyrics.

1. "We used to be tired."

From: 'Giants,' by Dermot Kennedy
(The word is right there in the title! The DJ announced it and I was all 'a song about giants? is it new? I have no memory of such a thing!' And then the song started playing and I was like '??? but I know this song!')

Anyway, the actual line is "We used to be giants," which is very easy to hear once you're listening for it.

2. "I want you in my heart."

From: 'Chew On My Heart,' by James Bay

As the title so obviously suggests, the line is actually, "Come on chew on my heart." In my defense, mine makes at least as much sense as that.
