The timing of Halloween is Not Ideal. (Christmas is a holiday with good timing -- most of the month to get ready, more than three days afterwards to recover.) By this point in October, I'm ready to swap out the Halloween decorations and everything* and move on, but the holiday STILL HASN'T HAPPENED.

Naturally, this does not stop me.

[*Yesterday I found myself thinking, 'I really need to do something with all this leftover Halloween candy. There's so much of it!' And then I realized. The thing to do is to give it away. On Halloween. Which hasn't happened yet.]
