There were some issues with billing from the propane company earlier this year, in the sense that every apartment was billed in February for hundreds of dollars that the property managers promised we were not responsible for and did not have to pay, and then it took UNTIL MAY to be resolved.

At some point in March, I got extremely fed up with the whole thing and turned my heat off. Late March wasn't that cold, I guess? It was fine, although I'm sure I only managed it because the apartment under me left their heat on.

And even when we had a few very hot days in May, they were isolated and it was easy enough to just not use the AC, because by that point I felt Very Determined not to give the propane company any more of my money. (To be fair: the bills did, eventually, get resolved, and I did not have to pay them. But now it's a challenge! A game!)

Here's what I did not anticipate: that on Memorial Day weekend, there would be three days in a row of clouds, rain, and temps barely breaking 50F degrees. It's so cold! I had to dig out some warmer clothes from where I'd packed them away for the move! I cooked actual food yesterday, in the oven, just so I had an excuse to run the oven for a while!

By next Monday, the forecast is currently calling for a heat wave. If that holds true, I may end up giving in and turning on the AC after all; it's hard to get the apartment to cool back down, and I worry about the cat. Right now, we are both curled up with a blanket, staying cozy.

::shakes fist:: Weather!
