Unfortunately, the testing suggests fasting. Technically, you don't have to fast. But that's because all the testing is considered non-mandatory; no one except the person being tested cares if the results are accurate, so they're like 'sure, do what you want.'
I always manage to forget how much I dislike fasting, but it is a lot. I extremely dislike it! Luckily my appointment is pretty early, and I'll bring some snacks to eat in the car afterwards.
