In an attempt to at least *pretend* I am getting ready to write a Douluo Continent time travel fix-it fic for nanowrimo, I have now re-watched episode 1 and episode 40.
Some Thoughts:
*In episode 1, the main character has a dream in which he sees scenes from the entire show, while his possibly-not-as-dead-as-everyone-thought mom calls his name and asks him to wake up.
*In episode 40, the main villain monologues about how once you master power over space, you move on to mastering power over time. You don't even have to dig for time travel; it's like they put it in a gift bag and handed it over!
*Still baffled and a little angry about whatever it was that happened there at the end of episode 40. "He'll be fine when he wakes up." Oh, WILL HE? Are you a doctor now?! ANYWAY I have some feelings.
(Also episode 40 is super weird in so many other ways; it goes so far it basically comes back around to being charmingly bizarre. It starts out with a group pep talk, and by the end the villain has 1) monologued the only plot explanation ever provided; 2) admitted that she killed her husband (possibly to take his job, or maybe that was just a bonus); 3) maybe murdered 9 people (I hope not? but what happened to them?); 4) apparently had an off-screen fight with the dad which she neither won nor lost?; 5) ?????)
