good news: I found that missing sock
Dec. 11th, 2021 07:19 amTurns out it was inside one of my other socks. Which isn't SUPER weird, because I do often wear two pairs of socks at a time (for warmth, and cushioning!). But it is definitely weird, because it means that FIRST I had to skip taking half a pair of socks at bedtime (because I don't like to sleep in double socks, but apparently I must have slept one night with one sock on one foot, and two on the other???).
And then SECOND I had to wake up the next day, realize that there was only one sock on the floor, and despite thinking MULTIPLE TIMES to myself 'are you totally, 100% sure you are not still wearing the other sock?' somehow not realize that I WAS, and then KEEP not noticing while I put all socks in the laundry basket.
So that was my 'did you check your feet for your socks?'* moment for the week.
[*FUN STORY! Way back in high school, Star and I went on a hiking trip with a group of students, one brave teacher, and a second adult of unknown origin. I'm sure he had one! I just don't remember it. Mostly I remember that at one point he lost his flashlight, and he DEFINITELY thought that the students were involved in some kind of shenanigans re: the flashlight, except NO it turned out it had been in his sleeping bag all along! And so when he also lost track of a pair of socks, this led to someone asking, "Did you check your feet for your socks?"]
