"short term"
Jan. 27th, 2022 06:07 amIn a meeting this week, I was told that a current situation at work would be "short term." A new process is being worked on! It's a priority! Certainly will be rolled out in less than six months!
Also this week, I was told that an existing process (intended to be done every year) was "a little delayed" from 2021, but I should definitely be seeing the results by the end of February. Oh, I said, that's great. Will this count as the 2022 process, or will it be done again this year?
Well, I was told, it was started in July last year.
So there's that.
*Existing, comparatively simple process, meant to be done annually: 7 months and counting, ETA 8 months.
*Brand new process, meant to 'streamline' an extremely complex and contentious (and *vague*) current process: estimated to be complete in under 6 months
I have doubts? And concerns. If the process is indeed rolled out in less than six months, I will be 1) shocked; 2) impressed. And I will certainly express my congratulations and retract my doubts if such a thing should come to pass.
