KAYAK TIME
May. 29th, 2022 07:01 amAfter last year's Big Move, we now live close enough to a river that having some sort of water-going craft isn't more of a logistical challenge than I can handle. (aka no cars need to be involved in getting the kayak from storage to water and back again) Which is great!
Unfortunately it also makes me feel like I "should" be getting out kayaking more often -- some sort of variation on the "you shouldn't waste food because some people are starving," I'm guessing? Like, if I have access to a kayak and access to water, it's wasteful not to take advantage of that?
Even writing it out makes it seem silly, but it has been A Source Of Some Stress. And it's not that I don't want to kayak, even though admittedly it is never quite as fun as I imagine it will be. (There's a lot of sitting and being a bit damp, two things which are not my favorite. Also my arms are not strong.) But I feel like it's one of those things I might like more if I did it more, so I've set a goal of going at least once a month during the months that kayaking makes sense. Starting with May! Which is almost over, so I guess now's the time.
