2012 fic writing year in review

I have a list of things I want to do before the end of the year. This seemed easier.

January
Warn the neighbors

“So, that’s the situation here, I wouldn’t even have mentioned it, really, except there was the chance you’d spontaneously decide to come back early, or, well — Steve thought you might be watching the news.”

February/March
Howling down the moon (aka dinner and a movie)

“We were called the ‘Howling Commandos.’ Pretty much everybody knew.”

April/May/June
a walk in the park

“Well, right now I’m hiding behind a tree, but before that there was jogging.”

July
probably just a misunderstanding

“You said one was a blond guy with loud shirts and the other was a dark-haired sniper that didn’t talk much! What was I supposed to think? They were at the same diner!”

August/September
Five Times Flash (Thompson) Met The Avengers

“Jan got hit by an amnesia ray while she was tiny.” Iron Man gestured at the desk. The tiny thing was a tiny person? “We’re working on it. She’s kind of hard to keep track of right now, so — babysitter. It’s fine, she’s cool with it.”

October
The End Is The Beginning (an epilogue that’s also a prologue)

“You owe me pancakes. I told you they would try to shoot us.”

November
Singing in the Light, Laughing in the Dark

The knock on the door distracted them both. Nikki was torn between pulling her gun — if it was an enemy, she’d want it ready — and changing her shirt — if it was their neighbors, she was going to make a horrible first impression.

December
It’s a Puzzle, It’s a Maze

“I hate to be the one to break it to you, but if you’re implying that what we’re doing now is a model of responsible celebration, I think you might be mistaken.”
