things from Arisia
Jan. 14th, 2011 09:35 pmThings I Learned About Trains Today
- they’re drafty! warmer socks would have been a good choice
- the whistle is quieter on the inside! (I guess this one should have been obvious, but not to me…)
- when traveling as a train newbie, it’s a good idea to sit near a family with young-ish kids; the kids will ask lots of questions, requiring the parents to explain important things like: when are we getting there? how many more stops? how do we get off? where’s the bathroom? (thanks, train family!)
Things I’m Loving About Arisia
- macrame
- *Andrea
- Lorelie the llama (I was going to go with Louisa, but I keep forgetting that name and coming back to Lorelie, so I’ll go with that for now)
Things I Wish The Hotel Had Listened to the Con Planners About
- stair access
- internet access (the countdown I’m staring at for our paid access said I have the option to “Upgrade Internent Speed” — clearly their tech people are slightly behind the curve on this one)
Question of the Hour
Who designs a hotel for Boston that has open access all around the giant glassed-in lobby where all the doors to the outside are located? It’s *freezing* down there!
