For reasons I don’t completely understand, this month I am the keeper of the workplace Awesome Armadillo. (For other reasons I don’t completely understand, “this month” started on the 27th.)

I’m told it is my job to provide the Awesome Armadillo with a name for the duration of my custodian-ship. I’m thinking Armando, but I’m open to suggestions.

Our 'months' in work run four weeks, Monday through the fourth Sunday. As you can no doubt imagine, this so rarely lines up with actual months that we only notice when it happens...bureaucracy's weird, huh?

Yes! We are on a "4-4-5" schedule, so each quarter is 13 weeks. Which makes sense conceptually, I guess, but in reality it means everything gets sort of awkward and confused and there's a span of days each month when no one really knows what's going on.
