gotta love it
Mar. 15th, 2015 05:19 pmIt is snowing. However, it is also March, so in true New England fashion, we are all pretending it is not snowing, despite the fact that there are several inches of wet, slushy snow and ice all over everything. The roads have not been sanded. The parking lots have not been cleared. After all, it is a SPRING storm. (My understanding is that this is like "a dry heat" -- still awful, and yet you are able to boast about some sort of redeeming aspect.)
In November, a storm such as this would have made me stay home. Not in March, though! Off I went to the gym, and then the grocery store. It was snowing hard enough that I had to clear off my car each time I came back to it, and yet I never thought to myself, "Gee, maybe this wasn't a good idea." In fact, it felt quite mild. "Look how light the sky is!" I marveled, kicking snow out of the wheel wells.
(Even my phone is in on it. At 1 pm, when it had been snowing steadily for an hour and a half, my phone insisted it was only "partly cloudy." And now, when it has STILL not stopped snowing, and current conditions could potentially be described as "near whiteout," my phone indicates we are experiencing "snow showers.")
Tomorrow it is supposed to be 44F. Bring it on.
