so I had this idea
Apr. 1st, 2011 07:34 pmWe celebrate Earth Day where I work (surprise, surprise) and the other day we were brainstorming different ideas. I was all, “we could make resolutions, like on New Year’s, but with an Earth theme!”
As with many of my ideas, it sounded better in my head before I tried to blurt it out in spoken form. But it did get me thinking about Earth-friendly resolutions. And I thought, “I could resolve not to use my car one day a week!”
Then, of course, I laughed and laughed. Because that would sort of be like me giving up brussel sprouts for Lent. I *already* don’t drive one or two days a week, because 1) I don’t like driving, because cars are equal parts terrifying and boring; and 2) I don’t like going places, because they are frightening and I might see people.
Anyway, it gave me the same sort of feeling I get when people say, “Oh, I thought you were a vegetarian.” And I’m all, “No, I just don’t really like meat.”
I have no idea where I was going with this, but I had ‘post to blog’ on my to-do list for the day, and this was the first thing I thought of. Also, April! It’s here!
