[Note: As I wrote this post, I sort of felt like it made me sound super weird. But I went with it anyway.]

So at the start of the year I figured I should probably start being more active so that it wouldn’t be such an egregious lie that I’d checked the box on my health survey saying I exercised three times a week. (Hey, whatever works.) But my work schedule makes the best time of day for exercise the morning, and in colder weather the number one biggest challenge for me is getting out of my pajamas.

They’re so warm! So cozy! And I don’t want to exercise in my pajamas, because that would be Too Warm. But I definitely don’t want to take off my pajamas and put on a cold t-shirt. Sure, I could tell myself to get over it, but 1) that never actually works for me, and 2) why put unnecessary obstacles in the way of something I’m already not sure I want to do?

My solution has been to wear a super-soft, super-comfy t-shirt *under* my pajamas. (I actually grabbed several from work last time they had Way Too Many free t-shirts printed. The design is admittedly very weird, but they were free!) So my exercise shirt is already on and ready to go when I get up in the morning.

[Note 2: And I wear comfy leggings either as pajama pants or (when it’s colder) under pajama pants (I sleep cold, I don’t know). So that’s set too.]

[Note 3: Future self, please remember this clever strategy! I already forgot once between spring and fall and had to figure it out all over again.]
