what, really?
Jan. 29th, 2022 06:46 amI'm signed up for that post office 'daily digest' email service, where you get an email each day of what's coming in the mail. Okay, you get an email some days of some of what's coming in the mail. (Only things that go through a scanner? I don't really know how it works. I think it was something I opted into when I changed my mailing address through the post office website, and it's interesting enough not to go opt out again.)
Today's daily digest includes a picture of a piece of mail that's not for us -- not super uncommon, we're still getting occasional mail for the people who lived here before us, and it's a tightly-packed neighborhood with a certain amount of mail confusion built in.
But this one is different! Not only is it not for us, it's not for anyone local at all! No, this piece of mail was sent from California, and is addressed to OREGON, but has somehow (maybe) ended up on the opposite side of the country in New Hampshire. I am SO CURIOUS if this will actually show up in our mailbox. Is it a daily digest glitch? What's the story?
(PS: Not to worry, it looks like it's maybe some kind of promotional mailing, so pretty unlikely that the intended recipient is missing it. If it does show up here, we'll make sure to send it on its way again. It'll get there eventually, just a little later than expected!)
