Things I remember now about kayaking that would have been helpful to remember yesterday:
*The hat protected my face from sunburn, and the shirt protected my shoulders and arms, but my legs! AHHH! Definitely should have put some sunscreen on my shins, or worn long pants.
*I can't paddle and snack at the same time. This seems so obvious, but I'm used to walking, where I'm always like 'I'm not hungry now but I will be in ten minutes, so I'll bring this bar to eat once I get moving." But I need both hands to paddle! How snack???
*Also extremely obvious in hindsight, but wow, my hands and wrists and forearms are all letting me know they'll be wanting some time off after that adventure.
Despite these belated reminders, it was a fun paddling adventure and successfully checks off May for a monthly trip out on the river. YAY!
