workaday Wednesday

In a work meeting yesterday, I learned that one of my boss' kids is doing some sort of intensive football league thing: practice Tuesday through Friday, 5:30 to 7:45 pm, until school starts, and then it will be 'just' two days a week, plus games on the weekend. The kid in question is 5 years old. I was only half-joking when I asked if they got a naptime intermission.
Anyway, that's what I'll be thinking of this afternoon, when I have three meetings in a row. (Bad news: meetings scheduled for only 30 minutes almost always run over. Good news: the meetings are back to back, so I have a perfect excuse to leave on time anyway.) Three 30-minute meetings is still only an hour and a half, so that's a full 45 minutes shorter than the kids football practice! Surely I, an adult-like person, can make it through this!
