just cat things
Sep. 18th, 2022 07:34 amMy cat enjoys sleeping on top of me at night, which is an extraordinarily cute habit I can only guess she picked up from her previous family. If I get into bed and lie on my back, she'll make her way over and climb up on my stomach. (I've learned to put a pillow on top of me first. A 15 pound cat stepping on my stomach isn't actually my favorite thing, and she kept moving to the more solid ground of my ribs, which made it harder to breath.)
But even with support under my knees, there's only so long I can sleep on my back before the urge to curl up on my side becomes undeniably strong. And yet I do hate to disturb the cat! Last night I woke up enough to ever-so-carefully move the pillow (cat still on top) so it was next to me, and I was free to roll over. ("Free" in the sense that with the cat firmly taking up the entire center of the bed, I had a small space between her and the wall in which to manuever.) Success! She was still on the pillow in the morning. Call that a midnight victory.
