Back to work today, but at least it's a four day week! According to the workplace schedule published by HR, managers are supposed to provide our annual review feedback by the 19th. This will be (understandably) somewhat challenging for my current interim!(maybe?!)boss, so I am EXTRA CURIOUS how this year's review will go.
Beyond the interpersonal workplace drama (which currently includes intrigue at EVERY LEVEL, it's a rollercoaster), there's my actual job, which is about as usual for January. The 'annual review' only covers through the end of the calendar year, and goals for the "upcoming" (aka current) year aren't set/approved until the end of January. Which leaves January itself as a sort of odd duck -- everyone is Absolutely Determined to be perceived as dedicated to reaching their goals (might as well take advantage of the recency effect at review time), yet there are no official goals to reach??? WILD TIMES.
