(The article is from 2019 and the content isn't anything too groundbreaking, but clearly someone who loves cats was involved with the presentation on the website, because there's an accompanying video about the Lanai Cat Sanctuary in Hawaii -- which is completely unrelated to the study -- titled "How to visit (and pet!) 600 cats." I hope they got to go to the sanctuary in person!)

I remember that study. I filed it under "Cat hating assholes" because most articles about it framed it as your cat not loving you and being a jerk. Your cat has a cat name for you, because every cat has to invent a way to speak to their human and "Hey! My friend!" is part of that, but nobody ever suggests that you don't love your cat just because you don't come running every time they call your name.
