nanowrimo 2022 re-read
May. 2nd, 2023 06:33 amI re-read my 2022 nanowrimo novel (aka my Star Trek Strange New Worlds season 1 fix-it fic) last night, and I have some thoughts:
*I stayed awake through the whole thing, which was a surprise -- usually reading my nano novels puts me right to sleep. (To be fair, I maaaaaybe skimmed some parts.)
*Love how I never explain anything when I write. It seems so obvious to me when I'm writing, and then later when I read it, I have no idea what I was talking about. I really thought I'd explained the Jim & Sam argument, but nope! Never.
*I was very excited a few weeks back about the next season of SNW, but then I remembered my fic isn't canon. But that's okay -- more problems just means more fix-its!
*It turns out five months is about the right amount of time for me to forget the fic I imagined writing. (I had also forgotten the fic I did actually write, but I could read it without comparing it to the imaginary one.)
*Very pleased with the cat. More cats in space, please!
