I've been using the habitica app for a couple years now, and I have a variety of 'things I do at the end/start of each month' that are scheduled to pop up at the appointed times. (Not all at once. I have them spread out over several days to make them more fun and less daunting.)

The 25th is the first day of the monthly transition tasks, and it's the most fun ones! Changing my fitbit band, and changing my phone case! (Okay, changing the sponge is fun. And changing the calendar page! But these are also very fun, and quick, and a nice way to ease into doing some extra tasks.)

Is there a reason to change those things every month? No, absolutely not. But I have multiple fun bands and cases, and this way I get to see more of them without having to think each time 'should I change it now? how about now? would tomorrow be better? maybe yesterday would have been better?'

Changing phone cases can also be helpful, along with fun! Years ago I was having problems with my phone, the screen wouldn't always turn on, it was bad, I was googling all over the place trying to find out what was going on.

The thing is, the way I'd cleaned it was I'd use a microfiber cloth on the case, but it was an otterbox case. I didn't take it off.

Then I took the case off and put a microfiber cloth over the phone *itself*. Boom, problem solved, there'd been some dust build up on a sensor or something.

So now I take the cases off regularly and wash them with dish soap, and wipe the phone with clothes.
