Okay the update from the meeting yesterday was SO FUNNY. This is absolutely CLASSIC workplace.
*The meeting started pretty much as usual; it took twenty minutes or so to get to the reveal.
*Finally, the CEO said something like 'these are the high-level takeaways from the last employee survey we did'
*(apparently there was a survey? probably last fall -- in workplace time that's practically forever ago; I only vaguely remember it)
*Direct from the CEO (paraphrased): 'we said we would share these results with everyone in December, and then we didn't, but we've definitely been working on them'
*biggest thing to work on from the survey: LACK OF COMMUNICATION
*how the company decided to address this: SWITCHING TO A MONTHLY TOWN HALL MEETING
*Which they then DIDN'T TELL ANYONE for three months.
It's not exactly a gold star effort, is what I'm saying. Coal star? Tin star? Whichever one says 'I guess you're trying, but I think you may have missed the point.'
