Me at work: [insert Bernie Sanders meme here] I am once again asking you to click the button
The one person preventing multiple projects from moving forward due to not clicking the button: ::crickets::
Everyone else: They're very busy! It's not their fault!
1. In my optimistic moments, I hope I get the same consideration when I don't get things done at work. Does anyone ever excuse my delays by telling other people I'm very busy? Maybe!
2. With my previous boss, when I would explain the delay, they would use the fact that they actually had meetings with the button clickers to request these things got done. Very helpful! With my current boss, when I explained the delay, they told me other teams are busy and implied that if I was nicer, maybe the button clickers would prioritize my requests more. Less helpful. But much more hurtful! I have not forgotten!
3. Anyway, that's work.
