a yarn miracle
Sep. 15th, 2024 07:41 amYesterday I was attempting to finish up the blanket that included the 'un-plyed' yarn (fun! let's never do it again!). I wound up adding some extra yarns on both ends to make it longer, which worked out pretty well. I was soooooooo close to the end (less than a hand's width!) when I ran out of yarn.
And I thought: I am definitely not undoing this whole row.
(Because one: that would make the blanket shorter again, which was Not The Goal; and two: I didn't want to.)
SURELY, I thought, there must be some similar-ish-enough yarn around to fill in these few inches! I knew I had a similar weight / different color yarn, but I also vaguely recalled a scraps bag that might help. And LO! What should I find but a piece of the EXACT YARN?!?!?! (It's almost like I keep liking and buying the same things over and over, hahahaha)
In conclusion: I was able to finish the blanket with a matching yarn and it sure did feel like a victory.
