marcicat | The Great Soup Debacle of 2012

I have a Panera card, since I’m there all the time. Two months ago, I got a reward — $1 off a soup. I don’t like soup. I am not a soup eater. But I’ve been to Panera a lot in the last two months, so I have had multiple conversations with lovely Panera employees, regarding the benefits of soup and who I might bring with me to lunch to take advantage of the reward.

Finally, today, the reward was set to expire. It was the line I would not cross — I Would Not Eat Soup Just To Get A Dollar Off. I had *three* employees at Panera involved in discussion this morning about whether or not I was going to get a soup or not. It was awesome. A highlight of my day.

And after today’s purchase? (NOT of soup.) I got a new reward. A DOLLAR OFF SOUP.
