movie review: Knight and Day
Sep. 1st, 2012 03:36 pm1. Almost every funny moment from the preview happened within the first 30 minutes of the movie. And they were funny! I laughed! (The diner scene is possibly worth watching all on its own, just for sheer lol!value.)
2. But I kind of started to get nervous when the mood changed and I checked the run time and realized there was still another hour and change to go.
3. Some fast-forwarding was involved in the middle part of the movie. Okay, maybe a lot of fast forwarding. I have issues with trust issues, okay? Safety is important to me.
4. The end was clever, in a sort of ‘wow, this really reminds me of Fast and Furious’ way. Except that I never really got enough of a sense of June’s character to make a call on whether or not she was *actually* cool with things, or if maybe she was going to wake up in six months with some serious regrets. These things worry me!
5. Jungle. Barefoot. I’m all about suspending disbelief, but no. Seriously, she couldn’t have grabbed some flip flops before taking off? WHO RUNS INTO AN UNKNOWN JUNGLE WITHOUT ANY FOOT PROTECTION?
6. In a totally unrelated movie note, I also rewatched Thor this weekend, and for the first time noticed that J. Michael Stracynski is listed as a “story writer.” Babylon 5 flashback!
