are Halloween lights a thing now?
Oct. 24th, 2012 08:50 amThere are five houses on my drive home that are currently decorated with sparkly strands of lights — the type that might be called “Christmas lights” if it was, you know, anywhere near Christmas.
One house is using entirely red-orange lights (LOTS of them!), so I’m assuming they are specifically Halloween-oriented. Or they just really like red-orange. Or they really dislike their neighbors on the right (ALL the lights are on that side of the house).
And one house, I’m pretty sure, leaves a couple strings of lights up (in a tree, in their front yard) all year round. Which must make walking the dog at night much easier.
But the other three houses have me confused. One has decorated bushes (white), one a back porch (blue and yellow), and one the whole front of the house (multicolor, and flashing, too!). It’s cool, I like seeing them, but it keeps making me confused as to what time of year it is!
(Which makes me wonder, why no sparkly strings of lights for the 4th of July?)
