Somehow, I’ve gotten hooked on this ridiculous Avengers team-up movie arc thingey (thingie? *is* there even a correct spelling for a made-up word?) that Marvel is doing. Because it’s pretty clever, really, even though I still think Edward Norton was a really good Hulk.

But the Captain America film… I have this thing, about prequels. It’s that I don’t like them. But Chris Evans! I liked him as Johnny Storm, and I kind of want to know what happens in the movie, since it’s part of the arc (darn those movie producers!).

[PS: I also didn't really care about Thor, except that Chris Hemsworth also played George Kirk in the Star Trek reboot, and who *doesn't* want to see him get a (better, longer) chance to be a hero?]

So — here is a great fic (AU) that helped motivate me to see the Captain America movie:

Look here, look back, look away, by marinarusalka

The AU part is that it puts Tony Stark (as Iron Man) in the same time period as the original creation of Captain America (1940s, WWII). Add Nazis, undercover identities, and magic!science; shake repeatedly. Ta da!

“Oh my God,” Tony said. “You’re Captain America. I’ve been saved from certain doom by Captain America. I’m buying a million defense bonds when I get home.”
