And then I decided to watch Labyrinth *too,* and turn it into just a big weekend of watching movies. I’m having a lot of trouble motivating myself to keep up with tv right now, but I’m doing okay with movies. No commercials, which is nice, and it’s less of a commitment than trying to remember backstory and then maintain interest for weeks and weeks. Yeah, my attention span is Very Short right now.

Anyway, I liked Labyrinth. It was better than I thought it would be, and less scary. (*Way* less creepy than some of the fic…) It falls into the “good to have seen it, because it’s part of the cultural lexicon, but don’t feel the urge to rush back and watch it again” category.

I did, however, read a bunch more fic.

Resistance is Futile, by dmacabre
Sir Didymus winds up Aboveground in an awkward (and silly) situation. Sarah and Jareth team up to “rescue” him.

Jareth shook his head in mock reproach. “There are twigs in my hair, Sarah. Do not for a single moment imagine that I am enjoying this.”

Certain Powers, by klmorgan
Sarah loses contact with her friends in the Labyrinth, and pushes the limits of her own brand of magic to fix things (then invites Jareth to the Scrabble games).

“The invitation still stands. You’re always acting like you’re so much smarter than anyone else – let’s see how you do with seven vowels and a blank board in front of you.”

Forever, Not Long at All, by mede
Sarah uses Jareth as a babysitting service and starts teaching herself magic.

“He’s got a cold, there’s no one else I can call, and I have to get this essay finished before class in the morning. It’s worth twenty-five percent of my grade. So, yes, if I could please just have an hour here before going through the Labyrinth again to get him…”

I think I’m movie-d out. On the other hand, Green Hornet was better than I was expecting. Basically, it’s a fan movie — they spend the whole thing going, “Oh shit, did you see that? That was like, a movie or something!” Which actually was pretty awesome.

Kato’s Key Line:
“Wanna see something cool?”

Britt’s Key Line
“Oh man, now we’re in a car chase!”

(runner up line: “Confused? You should be!”)

What I Always Wanted A Sidekick To Say:
“If you ever tell me to get you coffee again, I’ll beat the shit out of you.”

Cameron Diaz Is Awesome:
“Why do you keep asking me to do research on the Green Hornet when you *are* the Green Hornet?”
“Because we don’t know what we’re doing!”
