fic rec o’ the day

One of the most interesting things about reading Avengers fic is that I rarely start by trying to figure out what timeline and/or canon they’re following. I’m really only familiar with the new movies, so all the comic!verse variations are sort of hit or miss for me.

Which is a long way of saying that I had movie canon in my head when I read this fic, and therefore didn’t see it coming, but I really liked it. Lots. (In a sort of freaky-creepy, ‘Night at the Museum’ kind of way, but still good!)
