Movie Review: Super 8

1. Lens flare! Was J.J. Abrams involved in this movie? Why, yes, yes he was.

2. Nowhere *near* as scary as I thought it might be. Less scary than E.T.

3. Had a kind of wholesome, enjoyable feel to it. (Despite all the yelling and the running and the blowing up of their town and stuff.)

4. I thought they really downplayed the potential ramifications of the “psychic link” thing they had going on with the alien. (Which was fine by me, since that part was actually kind of creepy.)

5. The time period reminded me of “Frequency,” which gave me warm fuzzy feelings towards the movie despite their almost total lack of similarities otherwise.

+1. Was that Jeremy Renner in the Mission Impossible preview? (Wikipedia says yes, yes it was. Hi Hawkeye!)
