Dec. 5th, 2011 09:14 pmStill working my way through “The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.” It’s awesome, but I can’t help but feel like it’s a darned good thing Loki wants a convoluted victory. Because it would be not at all hard to take down this team.
First, there’s Jan — her big thing is, “Your powers are *so* cool! Why are you committing crimes when you could be doing way more fun things? Hey, have you considered joining the Avengers?”
And of course, Hank — “Can we talk about this? I think you’re a good person — in fact, you could totally join our team, wouldn’t that be great?”
Tony — “I like people who like me!”
Thor — “I like *all* Midgardians!”
Captain “everyone deserves a second chance” America really rounds out the team. The other three (current) members (as of ep 14, that would be Hulk, T’Challa, and Hawkeye) are all “reformed” villains — people they fought at one point, but find easier to just call “allies who sometimes help us and sometimes aren’t answering their phones.”
Really, all a determined villain would have to do is pretend to be having doubts about villain-hood. Bam, invitation to the Avengers mansion and instant access to the team!
PS: I get that it’s an animated cartoon, and it’s not like we’d recognize Clint if he wasn’t in uniform. But I’m having trouble getting over the fact that he *never* changes out of his Hawkeye gear, even when he was hiding and on the run!
