But maybe *slightly* concerned?

Here is this week’s Exciting Workplace Intrigue(TM)

MONDAY: As my boss and I are talking, I make an offhand reference to doing a project five years from now. Boss suddenly seems uncomfortable, and makes several vague statements that include the words “I wish I could tell you, but I can’t yet.”

[TUESDAY: If you are thinking I went home and immediately updated my resume, you would be wrong. I waited all the way until the next morning!]

WEDNESDAY: Boss says he will not be at work tomorrow; claims(?) to be going snowboarding. Gives clear instructions on how to proceed “if something happens” and he does not come back.

[Note: this is a boss who once took a weeklong trip OUT OF THE COUNTRY without leaving any instructions. So, yeah. Not worried, exactly. But a little '???!']
