Be a Goldfish WEEK 8: Favorite Character Fiesta

As previously mentioned, my first idea was to crochet a 'quick' lap blanket in Perihelion's colors for The Murderbot Diaries. That's been slow going, even though it's also been a lot of fun.

Then xinger and I were talking about Week 8 ideas, and I said maybe I'd just post the blanket as a WIP, and they suggested what about a collage of WIP pics?

TA-DA!!!



I'd like to imagine that someone on Peri's crew might decide the way to make Murderbot feel welcome on its first (official) mission is to hand-crochet a blanket for it like this one. Because fiber arts are probably a big Preservation thing, and doing it in Perihelion's colors is symbolic of bringing the two groups of people together, or something like that. Also it's very soft. And someday it will be larger than a wide scarf / narrow shawl!

YESSSS!! I saw your earlier entry about your blanket and I was so stoked! This looks so beautiful. I absolutely adore the texture of flat crochet and you've chosen such lovely colors. I also love the collage style I think that is so incredibly clever, and the stars are very cute too! Very beautiful work!!

AWESOME. i love both the worldbuilding work here as well as the actual blanket! it's coming along beautifully and i look forward to seeing how it progresses. sharing a wip is a great idea and i'm really pleased you went for it.
